St Johns Innovation Centre

Restaurant Design & Refurbishment

St John’s Innovation Centre operates an executive multi-tenanted office building in Cambridge.

St John’s Mission ‘St John’s Innovation Centre exists to provide a dynamic and supportive incubation environment to accelerate the growth of ambitious innovative firms in the Cambridge region’

r4 interiors brief: to expand the existing restaurant, create a more contemporary design to appeal to all tenants, re-use as much of the existing furniture from the previous restaurant and to improve the acoustics

Firstly we built an extension on to the courtyard fitted with full height glass panels to bring in the maximum amount of light possible, keeping in mind that in the summer bbq’s are a must here, so easy access to the garden courtyard was a priority!

the completed extension and fit-out!

The glass surrounding half of the restaurant keep the area light and welcoming to the multiple companies that use the building.

The acoustics were achieved by using HeartFelt Ceilings. The low hanging beams are wrapped in sound absorbent Felt using monochrome colours, and we designed for the colour to get lighter towards the glass view.

Traditional seating and tables are used throughout the restaurant, cosy leather seated booths with an impressive joinery wooden surround and low hanging pendants are fitted around the edges of the restuarant for a more relaxed break.

The flooring - Aged Indian Apple, a strong favourite and a classic sweeps throughout the whole area. This was used in the existing restaurant and still looks as good as new so we couldn’t possibly change it.

WE LOVE SEEING OUR DESIGNS AND FIT-OUTS WORKING FOR OUR CLIENTS AND BEING USED TO IT’S FULLEST POTENTIAL.
